As a web designer, it’s always a treat to work on a website that involves something you’re passionate about. I am very much into fitness, so it was a pleasure having the opportunity to work on a website for a local fitness company. Joni, my client, was very prepared. She had content, and a rough idea of the layout she wanted. We sat down and looked at her sketches and determined what navigation structure made the most sense for her company.

We spent the next several weeks coming up with the design, finalizing the content, and setting up her hosting. Joni was very pleased with the end result. She now has a professional online presence and her team is proud to refer potential clients to “check out” the website and learn more about the company.

Success!

This is another wonderful example of the power of CMS. If you don’t know already, a CMS (content management system) is a way for a non-web person to make changes to a website. In other words, you don’t have to know anything about programming to make updates to a website. Of course, this is usually limited to changing/adding text or pictures to a webpage, but it’s still VERY useful.

Conzeptos Marketing came to me with a major problem: Their previous website was created with a program called Flash (used to make animations) – and they could not make any changes to the website. They had written their own copy and they wanted to update their website. Unfortunately, their previous web designer was unavailable to make the changes, so they were stuck with a website that had outdated information.

The solution was to build a new website with a CMS called WordPress. WordPress would allow them to sign-in through an administrative section, and make changes to any page of their website. So, if any information changed in the future, they wouldn’t have to call me. They can just make the change themselves!

We went through the usual design process first, and then converted everything to the WordPress platform. We added a sleek photo gallery in their “services” page, and a quick contact form at the bottom of each page.

Very happy with the way it turned out! Check it out at www.conzeptosmarketing.com.

Jaime Bernal needed an online presence for his religious article business. He needed a Web 2.0, clean, professional-looking website to display his catalog, and allow prospective clients to learn a little bit more about what he does.

He wanted to keep it very simple, but at the same time he needed to highlight some of the things that made his business unique. So, I built a website that did exactly that. We emphasized the highlights, added a simple catalog, and he was extremely happy with the end product. We did this all on a small budget by selecting a WordPress template and making some minor modifications.

Phase II will focus on SEO to bring his search engine rankings up over time. Jaime is also considering SEM (sponsored links) to give his business a boost intially, given that SEO may take several months to show results.

I recently had the opportunity to work on a website for a local client with 30+ years of experience in the corporate world. He came to me with a rough layout and we turned it into a masterpiece.

A completely customized website is certainly not for those on a shoestring budget. But then again, your “online image” is like your first impression. You don’t want to make a bad first impression right? My client understood that this was an investment in his business and he approached it like that. That’s why his website rocks.

Debbie is a professional organizer. She handles multiple residential organizing from closets to entire households; home offices; small business offices; downsizing, packing/unpacking, and organizing households. She has conducted seminars at Barnes & Noble and libraries, as well as other associations and businesses.

Debbie has been called the “personal trainer” of organizing and has eighteen years of experience in the corporate environment, including various administrative and service management roles. Her final corporate position was CFO/VP of Administration for a national technology corporation.

Her business, Home-Office Solutions, needed a website makeover. Like most business owners, she needed something professional, clean, and informative. Within a month and a half, I had her up and running with a new website – complete with homepage highlights of the benefits she provides, a blog for posting new articles/news, and a two customized forms so her prospective customers can contact her. Now, her website is just as organized as she is.

To stay within a reasonable budget we found a WordPress template and modified it for her needs. We also kept a small budget for images that we purchase for use on each page.

After a few weeks, we finalized all the content, made our decision on which pictures to use, and created a customized contact form so her prospective clients could get in touch.
